Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Micro-needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) allows for a controlled process of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin, which triggers new collagen production. Microneedling is utilized to treat the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, minor trauma scars, hypo/hyperpigmentation, and improve the skin’s overall appearance. To enhance results, microneedling may be combined with the use of PRP, or topical serums to further enhance the overall appearance of the skin.
- Collagen Boost: Microneedling stimulates collagen production, enhancing your skin’s elasticity and firmness. This treatment addresses fine lines and wrinkles as your skin becomes naturally plump and youthful.
- Elasticity Restoration: Microneedling revitalizes elastin, promoting skin that bounces back gracefully, providing a natural lift to sagging areas.
- Repair and Renew: Microneedling controlled microchannels trigger your body’s natural repair mechanism. This repair process reduces scars, including acne scars, and minimizes the appearance of stretch marks, giving you smooth, flawless skin.
- Glowing Complexion: By enhancing blood circulation and encouraging the production of healthy skin cells, Microneedling reveals your skin’s natural radiance.
- Minimally Invasive: Enjoy the benefits of a rejuvenated skin without extensive downtime. Microneedling is minimally invasive, allowing you to resume your daily activities shortly after the procedure.
- No use of Accutane within the last 6 months
- Avoid retinoids, topical antibiotics, hydroquinone, and benzoyl peroxide 72 hours prior to your microneedling procedure.
- Do not take anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) like Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, or Motrin for at least three days before your treatment.
- No IPL/Laser procedures 7 days prior to treatment.
- Do not wax 48 hours prior to treatment.
- Do not shave the day of your treatment.
- Avoid blood thinning medications for a week before treatment as they could cause bleeding. If you need to take these meds for a serious health condition, speak to your doctor about alternatives.
- Arrive for your appointment with a clean face. No makeup, lotion, or sunscreen.
- If you have a history of cold sores, please notify us before your treatment so we can prescribe antiviral agents for you.
Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for one week. DO NOT ice face or use arnica or bromelain. These agents may interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.
Use Tylenol as needed for soreness.
Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for two weeks. After 24 hours, always use a full spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or above. When exposed to the sun, wear a hat and apply sunscreen every two hours.
DAYS 1-3A sunburn-like effect is normal. The skin will feel tight, dry, and sensitive to the touch. Treat skin gently, washing with a gentle cleanser, cool water, using hands only and pat dry no earlier than 4 hours after treatment. Redness or sensitivity might well be present. Some small bruising is common with microneedling and may last 5-7 days, and swelling can last 2-4 days, depending on how aggressive of a treatment you received.
Plan your social calendar accordingly!- Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating. Avoid jacuzzi, sauna, or steam baths for 24 hours after treatment due to open pores, or up to 48 hours if inflammation exists.
- No Make-Up for 24 hours post-procedure.
- If needed, sleep on your back with head of bed elevated to minimize swelling or pain.
- Peeling may start 3-5 days after treatment. You will notice skin dryness and flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. Do not pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin! Allow old skin to flake off naturally and KEEP SKIN MOISTURIZED AT ALL TIMES. For extra dry skin, apply moisturizer every two hours if needed.
You may restart your regular skincare products and Retin-A once your skin is no longer irritated. Many patients have noticed continued skin improvement for months following treatment.
- For best results, we recommend follow-up and repeat treatments in 4-6 weeks and a series of 3-5 treatments depending on your personalized care plan.

Microcurrent is a low level of electrical current that mimics the body’s own natural current. It is a non-invasive treatment that assists in diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving the texture, tone and appearance of the skin. Microcurrent re-programs and re-educates facial muscles, while reducing the appearance of aging.
- Facial Contouring: Microcurrent stimulates facial muscles, promoting toning and tightening, contributing to improved facial contours.
- Collagen Production: By enhancing cellular activity, microcurrent encourages collagen and elastin production, promoting skin elasticity and firmness.
- Reduced Wrinkles and Fine Lines: The gentle electrical currents help diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, contributing to a smoother complexion.
- Improved Circulation: Microcurrent therapy supports increased blood flow, delivering essential nutrients to the skin and aiding in a healthy, radiant complexion.
- Natural Glow: Regular microcurrent sessions can contribute to a natural, youthful glow by revitalizing the skin at a cellular level.
- Non-Invasive Anti-Aging: As a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure, microcurrent offers an alternative for those seeking anti-aging benefits without more invasive measures.
